Welcome

We wanted this home to be welcoming, comfortable and elegant, with personality but always in a simple, relaxed spirit. It’s with great pleasure and pride that we open the doors and share it with you! Clotilde and Arnold

A former lavender farm, the Domaine takes its name from the locality known as “Bois des Dames”, whose origins date back to the 18th century. From this history, it retains its characteristic architecture and simplicity. Here, nature reigns supreme, and calm is absolute.

Inner courtyard

The completely renovated building is built around the Grand Courtyard, the heart of the Domaine. As soon as the sun rises, tables are set under the shade of the hundred-year-old acacia tree, with candlelight on summer evenings, lulled by the song of the cicadas, just like in a Provencal village square.

Old dryer

Another time, another atmosphere: cool in summer, warm in winter, under its high beams, the former drying shed houses the large guest lounge. Authentic and original, the decor combines stone and natural plaster, soft tones and deep colors, furniture and objects from family heirlooms, antique and designer collections. Deep armchairs, a fireplace, subdued lighting, good music and beautiful books… You’ll feel right at home! Come autumn, you’ll be delighted to share a drink by the fire, a game of cards, or a truffle dinner…

The exteriors

Oak and birch woods, oleanders, Provencal cypresses, olive trees, heady-scented broom and, of course, lavender! Wise or wild, the 2.5-hectare estate reveals itself as you stroll along. Spectacular views of the Drôme hills, the hilltop villages of Roussas and Valaurie, and the Pays de Grignan. In the shade of sheltered terraces, in secret corners of the park, deckchairs and hammocks invite you to relax. And don’t forget the pétanque court and swimming pool!

At Domaine le Bois des dames, we are delighted to welcome pets, who spend unforgettable moments here! For everyone’s well-being, only the independent rooms and suites with direct access to the gardens are open to them, and we ask owners to ensure that their guests enjoy their stay in peace and quiet, and that the premises are kept clean.
